Hey guys! Sorry I’ve been gone for awhile - lots of life stuff happened.
Colin and I took a trip out to Colorado again to visit family and of course finally go hiking and such since we were really sick last time we were there a year ago.
We flew in on Monday (5/7), and one of the first things we did the following day was go hiking at Horsetooth Mountain. It’s a nice 7000+ ft elevation, 5+ mile hike up and down, but due to the incline, it’s a decent 4+ hour hike and climb.
So, I’m actually not a fan of heights, but mainly for the fear of falling. Once I’m up where I need to be, I’m more concerned about the fall than how high I am.
Colin took advantage of this, clearly. lol
He wanted the hike to represent a relationship: you have to work on it to get to the top, even during rough patches, and you have to trust each other all the way.
When we got near the top, you have to climb nearly straight up, and this is where I started to panic. But I toughened up and just didn’t look down, and once I got there I firmly planted my butt on a rock.
Colin was setting up the tripod to take pictures of us together. He ended up handing over our point and shoot to a guy who had also climbed up. Colin hopped back over to me and had me stand up. Little did I know, he gets down and proposes. :)
As far as the ring, there’s a story behind it, as briefly told by Colin:
It took me 2 months to design this ring and my AMAZING brother, who’s a jeweler, forged the ring (IN THE FIRES OF MOUNT DOOM… maybe) and did a fantastic job on bringing the design to life. It has elvish runes (right from Tolkien’s book) of K and C on the inside of the band. I am really happy with it and Kim loves it =)
I do. :) Not as much as I love him though. ^_^

I had NO idea J.Crew had a wedding collection! And I love their dresses! They’re so simple with an airy look/feel to them.
